WEATHER

In mid May, the temperature in Beijing ranges from 12 degrees celsius to 27 degrees celsius.

 

OFFICIAL LANGUAGES

  The official language of the meeting are English and Chinese. One-way, English to Chinese simultaneous interpretation will be provided during scientific meeting and live surgery workshop.

 

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

  Registration fees, less a 100 USD administration fee, will be refunded upon written notice of cancellation to the AAHRS office received on or before April 25th, 2018. The money will be returned after the meeting ends. After April 25th, 2018, there will be no refund of fees for cancellation or for lack of attendance without notification. It is your responsibility to ensure that your cancellation request has been received by the AAHRS office. “No shows” who have not prepaid will be invoiced for the total registration fee.

 

VIDEO, PHOTOGRAPHY & AUDIO RECORDING POLICY

  Video recording and/or photography are strictly prohibited in all educational sessions. Under no circumstances are video, digital or still cameras to be utilised in the educational sessions. This include photos and videos taken with cellular phones. Violators will be dismissed from the meeting and have their cameras/equipment confiscated until the end of the meeting. Photography of scientific material is strictly prohibited. The only exception to the photography policy is photos taken by the official AAHRS photographer, for purposes of podium photos to use in AAHRS publications.

NOTE : We have hired a professional photographer to take a podium headshot and panel shot of every presenter in the session, and will offer the link to download the photos after the meeting. Disclaimer: We will do our best to capture every presenter and panel, there is no guarantee on quality of photo.

 

CELLULAR PHONE POLICY

  The use of cellular phones in the general session or workshop rooms is strictly prohibited. Attendees must either turn off or vibrate cellular phones.

1. GREAT WALL OF CHINA

The Great Wall, one of the greatest wonders of the world, was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, it winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 21,196 kilometers from east to west of China.


 

 

 

 

2. TIANANMEN SQUARE

Located at the center of Beijing City and the midpoint of Chang’an avenue is the remarkable Tiananmen Square, where you can visit the Tiananmen Tower, Monument to the People's Heroes, Great Hall of the People, Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall and see the national flag raising ceremony. Thousands of people come to the Square every day. It is the must place to visit in Beijing City.


 

 

 

 

3. THE FORBIDDEN CITY

Forbidden City, also known as the Palace Museum, and Gu Gong in Chinese, lies at the city center of Beijing, and once served as the imperial palace for 24 emperors during the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368 - 1911). It was first built throughout 14 years during the reign of Emperor Chengzu in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). Ancient Chinese Astronomers believed that the Purple Star (Polaris) was in the center of heaven and the Heavenly Emperor lived in the Purple Palace. The Palace for the emperor on earth was so called the Purple City. It was forbidden to enter without special permission of the emperor. Hence its name 'The Purple Forbidden City', usually 'The Forbidden City’.


 

 

 

 

4. BEIJING NATIONAL STADIUM

Affectionately known as Bird's Nest, the National Stadium is situated in Olympic Green Village, Chaoyang District of Beijing City. It was designed as the main stadium of 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The Olympic events of track and field, football, gavelock, weight throw and discus were held there. Since October 2008, after the Olympics ended, it has been opened as a tourist attraction. Now, it's the center of international or domestic sports competition and recreation activities. In 2022, the opening and closing ceremonies of another important sport event, Winter Olympic Games will be held here.
